Suspicious pirates arrested by the De Grasse

(BRUSSELS2) The sailors of the frigate De Grasse will not really have had time to celebrate the new status of flagship of the European anti-piracy force EUNAVFOR. The helicopter of the Danish ship Esbern Snare of the NATO fleet (CTF 508) alerted them to the presence of a suspicious vessel, with ladder on board and numerous barrels of gasoline, in this eastern part of the Gulf of 'Aden. However, he was unable to intervene. The helicopter from the Italian frigate Libeccio then took over, to try to stop the suspects. They persisted, despite three warning shots. THE De Grasse in turn, sent its helicopter and especially its “visit” teams who apprehended the pirates and seized the equipment. It will be difficult to bring these suspects to justice, as no flagrant offense can be attributed to them.
