EU – Israel. A high-level EU delegation to Gaza in July (update)

(B2) A delegation of 5 EU Foreign Ministers could well go to Gaza at the end of July to verify the easing of the blockade of the Palestinian territory promised by the Israelis. These are the Italian, French and Spanish ministers. Two other ministers - German and British - could join. The High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, Cathy Ashton, will also travel to Gaza, but earlier on 17 and 18 July (1).

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman had extended an invitation to his Italian counterpart Franco Frattini to visit Gaza with other foreign ministers from EU member states, the Italian government said on Friday (June 24 ).
