“Atalanta” commanders move to NATO

NATO-Logo.jpg(B2) NATO will benefit from two significant reinforcements… from the European Union. This is new enough to not be reported. British Rear-Admiral Peter Hudson, who is leaving office these days, will return to his duties as commander of the British maritime force (which he has never abandoned, carrying out both activities simultaneously). But above all, on January 2, he will take command of NATO's Deployable High Readiness Forces (Maritime) Headquarters, provided by the British and the French. His deputy until now, who has just been replaced by a German counterpart (1), Spanish Rear Admiral Bartolomé Bauzá will become director of operational preparation at Alliance HQ in Lisbon. HQ which ensures general responsibility for the NATO anti-piracy operation…Ocean Shield“, alongside NATO Maritime HQ, also in Northwood.
