The Topaz Coast Guard in the face of a pirate attack (continued)

(B2) Between the pirates and the Seychelles Coast Guard, tension is mounting. After recovering hostages and arresting pirates yesterday (read here), the Topaz was attacked that night (around 4 a.m. local). A mother ship and 2 pirate skiffs opened fire on the Topaz while it was in the Exclusive Economic Zone, on its way to Mahé
. The Coast Guard returned fire. One of the skiffs sank and the mother ship exploded and caught, the third skiff fled. The Topaz continued on its way to Port Victoria, announces the body of the coast guards estimating " that the priority was to return with the hostages safe and sound and not risk the lives of the civilians on board by chasing down the third skiff. The fate of the pirates on the three ships is not known. » is it further specified. Which seems to me to be a breach of the obligation to safeguard life at sea.
