(BRUSSELS2) It took a little longer than expected (1). Finally, the three helicopters modernized by the joint NATO-EU program arrived in Afghanistan and will be integrated, on Monday, into NATO's ISAF operation in Afghanistan.

Czech pilots received training in mountain flying in France, in the Pyrenees, then in the Alps (2), and in the deserts of the Middle East and the American West. Aircraft have been improved with various communication (on-board electronics, night flight, etc.) and protection equipment.

A "upgrade” carried out largely in the factories of the Czech LOM Praha – technical leader of this program –; part of the aeronautical and electronic equipment having been supplied by the British. These helicopters should be integrated into NATO's “HIP initiative”. As for the European Defense Agency, it has studied a training plan for Mi helicopter pilots.
