Nordic Battlegroup Completes Recruitment

(B2) Sweden has just finished recruiting its troops (1) for the Nordic Battlegroup 2011, announces the Swedish army. For around 1600 positions in the Battlegroup (and 150 in the strategic reserve), it received a total of 5.250 candidates (who were
often applied for 2 or 3 positions).

The Nordic battlegroup will be on call for the European Union in the first half of 2011. It will be made up of 2000 soldiers from five countries: Sweden, Finland, Norway, Estonia and Ireland. Sweden playing the role of framework nation by providing the majority (1600) of soldiers.
