11 pirates arrested by the Seychelles Coast Guard and Floréal

(B2) The cooperation initiated between the sailors of the European anti-piracy operation and the Seychelles continues. On the evening of December 6, the Seychelles coastguards took charge of a group of pirates, 250 nautical miles from the main island of the archipelago. EUNAVFOR's maritime patrol aircraft had spotted a group of pirates on a mother ship, with two skiffs, on Saturday evening. The French frigate, the Floréal, had gone there, followed by the Topaz, the Seychellois coast guard ship. The French lent a hand to their Seychellois colleagues. The Floreal helicopter thus intervened to immobilize the pirates. Eventually 11 pirates were arrested, with all their piracy gear seized. The two attack skiffs were destroyed.
