21 out of 27 countries have already appointed their commissioner (update)

(BRUSSELS2) With the designation by Prague of its commissioner, it will be Stefan Füle, the current Minister for European Affairs, and former ambassador to NATO, it is now 21 countries out of 27 which have, more or less, already designated their representative at the European Commission. For two of them, the name most often cited has yet to be confirmed (Denmark, Ireland, Sweden). Three States (Netherlands, Romania, United Kingdom) maintain a certain uncertainty. With the exception of Romania for internal policy issues, we observe that in some countries the choice will depend on the portfolio assigned to the Commission. Among these, we knew that the post of High Representative could fail a Briton, we see that the Dutch, even the Irish or the Swedes have not lost all hope of seeing this post fall into their hands. To see the future composition of the European Commission (page updated according to the news).

Suspense on the name of the future High Representative should end in a few hours or even a few days. The Swedish Presidency of the EU has indeed convened an extraordinary summit on Thursday 19 November.
