Brief blog

We are recruiting for the Congo and Palestine.

(BRUSSELS2) Several new calls for recruitment have just been published for EU civilian missions.

Au Congo, staff will be increased in the two missions: EUSEC (army) security training and police and justice training. We must now move quickly because not all the candidates have been found.

A new official call has thus been made for EUSEC Congo, via the delegations of the Member States in Brussels. The call for contributions, launched in August 2009, has not shown its full effectiveness, we admit to the Council. There is no " sufficient contributions in relation to the needs of the mission ". 53 positions are offered on secondment and 6 on contract. Some are already full. Others don't. Eusec Congo is a "civilian" mission of the ESDP but it is above all a formation of the Congolese army. It is therefore not surprising that most of the positions targeted concern the military. Some will be based in Kinshasa, the capital, but others in the provinces (Goma, Bukavu, Kisangani, Lubumbashi) with the military region headquarters of the Congolese army. There are also many support positions (logistics, IT, administration and budget, etc.) and advisers (doctrine, operations, planning, training, planning, gender, etc.). Call to follow.
Information: patrick.vanhees(a)consilium.europa.eu
Deadline: 30 October.

For the police mission EUPOL Congo, about thirty posts have been published: expert in the police, justice, human rights, sexual violence, paramedic, financial or human resources manager, security officers... Most are to be covered "as soon as possible" Download the call - application form - Deadline: 6th November

NB: the two positions of “gender” and “human rights” adviser are pooled for the mission. On the other hand, the spokesperson posts have been separated this time. Too heavy for one person.

In Palestine, pfor the EUPOL COPPS police mission, around thirty positions are also available: police, justice, prisons, human rights advisers, etc.  Most are to be covered "as soon as possible". Please note that some have already been covered. Download the call - application form - deadline: 2th November

To your CV and emails...

Note that in Afghanistan. , the EUPOL mission has still not filled its staff (around 265 posts out of 400 have been filled). A new call for contributions could therefore be published.
