Sweden could answer Hudson's call on planes

(B2) Sweden has received Rear Admiral Hudson's Call, which commands Operation Atalanta, requesting more maritime patrol aircraft. The country currently presiding over the European Union will command the force on the spot, from April to August 2010. And Defense Minister Sten Tolgfors could only respond favorably to this request. The country will therefore study whether it can send the coast guard planes.

Coast Guard planes. These are equipped with 3 recent DASH-8 Q-300 aircraft (purchased in 2008) and equipped with modern electronic surveillance instruments. But they do not depend on the Ministry of Defence. It would be a good example, however, of the model of civil-military convergence that Sweden defends, particularly in terms of maritime surveillance (read here).
