NATO's (and the EU's) new weapon: a mobile printing press

(B2) It is an original weapon of war with which Greece has just equipped itself for its NATO deployment corps (NDC-GR): a state-of-the-art mobile printing press, allowing rapid printing of static maps or dynamic than instruction manuals or other printed matter.

This material prints double-sided, on very light (40 g) to rigid (250 g) paper, 50 cm wide and without length restriction. But above all, this material that fits in a container can be uninstalled, reinstalled and ready to print in less than six hours“says its promoter, Christos Anastasiou, of Punch Graphix SE Europe, a Belgian company based in Lier. The container can be transported by boat or plane.

This material was tested during a “STEADFAST JOIST - GORDIAN KNOT '09” exercise held in Litochoro (in the
Greek Region of Central Macedonia) in March 2009. The NDC provides headquarters capabilities for protracted operations. It is based on the forces of the headquarters of the body C of the Greek army. It has two functions: as field headquarters ready to be deployed during NATO missions, as operational headquarters (OHQ) for EU missions.
