Patriot missiles in Poland by the end of the year?

(B2) A battery of 96 American Patriot surface-to-air missiles could be deployed in Poland before the end of the year, Stanislaw Komorowski, deputy defense minister, told the press. The battery would be installed in the vicinity of Warsaw and a hundred American soldiers would be stationed permanently. If we are to believe the daily  Republic, this announcement seems premature. Differences still exist between the Polish and American governments on the date of installation and the operational modalities. The Pentagon did not want to indicate exactly when the Patriots would be installed (“a negotiation must take place”). But he specified that they would first be for "training and exercise" purposes and not for operational purposes (in particular, they would not be equipped with certain computer programs necessary for the anti-missile fight). A formula no doubt intended not to provoke the Russian neighbor unnecessarily, but which does not really please Warsaw. Where we don't want "Patriot" flower boxes...
