Swedish warships arrive in the Gulf… by boat!

(B2)Interesting technique used by the Swedes to convoy warships off Somalia. Rather than sailing on water - like other ships - portage by boat is used. The two corvettes HMS Stockholm and HMSMalmö as well as the support ship HMS Trossö - which will be used for the EUNAVFOR Atalanta operation from mid-May - have thus been transported to the Gulf of Aden.

Benefits of this technique : save a little oil, but especially the time of the men. These, during the time, can either rest (between two missions), or train. For this, we made a kind of floating auto-dock. A complex task, carried out at the naval logistics base in Sweden: the ships do not have the same draft.
