The Swedish Presidency presents its logo

(B2)Transparency, efficiency and dialogue, these are the key words which will guide the Swedish presidency of the European Union which will be in place in the 2nd half of 2009. This was explained by the Minister of European Affairs, Cecilia Malmström, who presented the new presidency logo and the new website (which is currently being tested). The very name of the site (which differs from the name normally reserved for presidency sites such as the Swedish presidency would have: is a symbol in itself, said the Minister. This “wants to underline the fact that the presidency speaks on behalf of the European Union as a whole and that Sweden is a full member of the EU”. A slight snub to the Sarkzy presidency first and especially to the Czech presidency, which has tended to speak in its own name, and has forgotten its role as president...
