Belgian field hospital leaves UNIFIL for Battlegroup UE

(B2) Homecoming for Belgian doctors in Lebanon. The Belgian army is, in fact, in the process of folding and repatriating its field hospital deployed as part of UNIFIL in Lebanon, at Camp Scorpion in Tibnine, to Belgium. With a radiology department, an analysis laboratory and two operating theatres, the hospital operates mainly under tents and is able to function as a classic emergency service - role 2. The doctors and nurses of "Belubatt 7" will not be idle. The field hospital will be made available to one of the EU battlegroups, the BattleGroup, in the second half of 2009, which will be under Belgian command and will include French personnel.
