Eumm Georgie deploys 250 observers and is still recruiting
(B2)Eumm Georgia is being deployed. Just a few days after the decision of the 27 foreign ministers, its leaders have taken up residence in Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, on the heights in a former dacha of... Beria (which has since served as the official residence of the Georgian government vis-à-vis its distinguished guests).
A mission of 340 people
The number of observers was increased to 250, the mission having a total of 340 people (staff, support, local staff). Everyone should be there by the end of the week. For once, it was not difficult to convince the Member States to provide men, on the contrary all wanted to participate (see previous article). This Monday, the head of mission, Hansjörg Haber,
met Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Giorgi Bokeria. An agreement setting the status of the mission (Soma) should be signed soon.
