A map of destruction in Gori and South Ossetia

(B2) 33 buildings were destroyed after fighting between Russians and Georgians in Gori (Georgia), according to the United Nations for satellite imagery (INCORPORATED), which has just released a final status map. 18 are totally destroyed, 15 seriously damaged. On this map (download the guide here), we also see the impact of the explosion of an ammunition depot and we can locate the place where the Georgian train exploded.

But the most interesting is undoubtedly the map of the destructions in South Ossetia. About 1000 buildings destroyed (794 totally, 256 severely (download there). No visible damage on the 5.372 buildings still identified. A conclusion "important preliminary" is essential, in view of this satellite analysis, explains Unosat: "there is an observed significant concentration of damage in well-defined residential areas." Georgian areas are affected, there is a desire for "ethnic cleansing", specifies the human rights organisation, Human Rights Watch, renowned for the quality of its information (see its complete analysis here).
