The 27 launch a European mission on flexicurity, in Brdo (slovenia)

(BRUSSELS2) The 27 Employment Ministers were to decide, this Friday during their informal meeting in Brdo (Slovenia), to launch a mission for flexicurity. The objective is to see how the security principles are implemented in the Member States. The mission will be co-chaired by the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Vladimir Spidla and the former French Labor Minister, Gérard Larcher. It will include five other members:
- Darja Sencur Pecek, professor of law at the University of Ljubljana, under the Slovenian presidency.
- Xavier Prats Monne, Director at DG Employment of the European Commission, in charge of Flexicurity (who will represent the Commissioner on a daily basis).
- Maria Helena André, Deputy General Secretary, European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
- Renate Hornung-Drauss, director of European affairs of the BDA (the confederation of German employers), for Business Europe.
- David-Pascal Dion, administrator at the European Commission, who will act as secretary for the mission.
