Portuguese Presidency: in the starting blocks

(B2) The Portuguese Presidency of the European Union which takes office on 1 July has already launched its website. You can admire the logo, a flower with 27 petals, and consult the program. The first ministerial meeting will be the informal Council of Employment Ministers.
On the menu of their social priorities, the Portuguese aim to move forward on themes such as flexicurity, social services of general interest and minimum income - active inclusion. The Portuguese presidency could also try to go back on the working time directive - possibly... - and try to unblock the directive on the rights of mobile workers in Europe to "professional pensions".
This presidency is also the entry into the running of the French, since the French ministers, or their representatives, will be part of the ministerial troika (important for all the legislative negotiations in particular).
